The Rocks sits alongside Sydney Harbour, a very short walk from Circular Quay and is an historic area, once being home to the aboriginal people and was to become the first site of European settlement. The area houses 100 heritage sites and buildings, along narrow streets. Sydney’s oldest surviving house, Cadmans’s Cottage built in 1816 can be found in this area.

Do not miss a visit to the Rocks Discovery Museum, where you can trace the area’s fascinating transformation from aboriginal lands to convict slums and now Sydney’s tourist hot spot.

Enjoy the souvenir shops, restaurants, cafes, art galleries and do not miss the week-end markets. A must see is the Museum of Contemporary Art.
