Taronga Zoo opened in 1916 and has evolved from a location of entertainment to a mature conservation and education hub.

You get to enjoy close-up encounters with iconic Australian wildlife and other animals from around the world at Taronga Zoo, whilst at the same time you get to experience the superb views of Sydney’s skyline and Sydney Harbour.

Taronga Zoo is set over 28 hectare (69 acres) and is home to over 4,000 animals and 350 species. It has a zoo shop, a café and information centre.

From the city, you can catch a bus from Wynyard or experience Sydney Harbour by catching a ferry at Circular Quay.
